August Alsina has announced that he will be dropping a brand new album for his loyal fans titled Myself on Friday (March 10).
August Alsina made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday (March 8). In the first slide of the post, there is a picture of a young August Alsina blended with a man who is allegedly his father. The backdrop of the photo is a latitudinal height marker, which is a common element seen when someone gets their mugshot taken.
In the next slide, August Alsina is sitting down while a camera pans closer to him as he’s writing in a notebook. As the writing is revealed, it reads: “Me, Myself, and Eye.” Through the short video, August Alsina explains the thought process behind his upcoming project.
“I’ve gone from a young boy to a man… a man whose wiser… smarter… stronger because of my experiences and adversities I’ve faced and a man whose more resilient,” August Alsina said.

August Alsina was recently the topic of conversation during Chris Rock’s newest Netflix special Selective Outrage which premiered live on Saturday (March 4). During the special, Chris Rock discussed how the infamous 2022 Oscars slap he endured from Will Smith had nothing to do with him insulting his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
“Will Smith practices ‘Selective Outrage,’” Rock explained. “Everybody who really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that shit. I didn’t have any ‘entanglements.’ His wife was fucking her son’s friend. I normally would not talk about this shit…
He added: “I have no idea why two talented people would do something that fucking lowdown. We’ve all been cheated on. Everybody in here been cheated on. None of us has ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us… on television. She hurt him way more than he hurt me.”
August Alsina’s new project is a follow-up to his 2020 album, The Product III: State of Emergency.
