LIZZO & GUNNA TAPPED AS ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’ MUSICAL GUESTS AND JERROD CARMICHAEL TO HOST

Written by on March 22, 2022

Gunna is set to bring the drip to Saturday Night LiveSNL revealed a lineup of upcoming April shows on Monday (March 21) and the YSL rapper will be making his debut on April 2’s episode while comedian Jerrod Carmichael will hold down hosting duties.

April 16’s edition will see Lizzo’s return to the SNL stage where she’ll be working overtime as the musical guest and host of the night.

The “Truth Hurts” artist made her Saturday Night Live debut in 2019 during an episode that was hosted by comedy legend Eddie Murphy. She performed hits such as 2017’s “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” but also made an appearance in an online-only skit that was unfortunately cut from the live airing.

Sandwiched between Lizzo and Gunna’s episodes find pop star Camila Cabello taking the SNL stage on April 9 with actor Jake Gyllenhaal playing host. He’s currently promoting Ambulance, where he stars in the heist-themed film, as does Wale.

Gunna has enjoyed a healthy mainstream ascension in 2022 behind the release of his DS4Ever album, which beat out The Weeknd for No. 1 atop the Billboard 200 in January with 150,300 total album-equivalent units earned.

The Atlanta native alongside mentors Young Thug and Future earned the first gold plaque for a 2022-released single with “Pushin P” earlier in March.

To catch Gunna’s flamboyant fashion choices, tune into SNL on April 2 at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
