Authorities are investigating the fatal shootings of a young Louisiana couple found on a highway. Police identified the victims as Dashayla Ardoin, 17, and Glenkeithan Robertson, 21, both found dead on (Oct. 12), according to PEOPLE.
Details On The Tragic Passing Of A Louisiana Couple
PEOPLE states that authorities found Glenkeithan Robertson and Dashayla Ardoin’s bodies around 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 along White Oak highway, likely as they headed to Mamou High School for homecoming. Sheriff KP Gibson noted their route suggested they were on their way to the event, where Dashayla was a student.
Sheriff Gibson allegedly told PEOPLE that he believes Glenkeithan Robertson was the shooter, but he couldn’t discuss any possible motive behind the killings. He also shared that they still do not know the details and are working to conduct a thorough investigation.
“From the investigation, this case is believed to be a murder / suicide. There were no other passengers in the vehicle,” Arcadia Parish Office said in an official statement on Facebook.
A witness by the name of Austin Bellard recalled seeing a truck arrive near the highway before he heard gunshots, KLFY noted. Shortly after, he rushed over but found the discovery disturbing.

In a Facebook tribute, Mamou High School stated the community is grieving for “one of their own.”
“Lord, we pray for peace, strength, and understanding as we return to school tomorrow without one of our own. Please keep our students and staff, as well as the family and friends of Dashayla, in your prayers. Dashayla will always be remembered for her courage and bravery, her kind heart, and her beautiful smile. She was so very loved and will be dearly missed,” the post reads.
Glenkeithan’s Instagram reveals he reportedly worked as a local DJ. About two months ago, he posted a photo of himself with Dashayla, captioning it, “Me & You Against The World.”
