CNN has announced that Gayle King and Charles Barkley will co-host a new weekly show on the cable news network called “King Charles.” The hour-long show will air in the fall of 2023 and will feature live discussions about cultural events and relevant topics.

The two will not be leaving their current positions; King will continue to anchor CBS Mornings, while Barkley will remain a commentator with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports.
Both King and Barkley expressed their enthusiasm about working together on the show. King, who also hosts “Gayle King in the House” on Sirius XM, said that she wasn’t looking for another job but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Barkley. The show’s announcement comes nearly a year after Licht was appointed as CNN’s CEO. Licht, who was previously Stephen Colbert’s executive producer and relaunched “CBS This Morning” in 2012, has been working to bring a fresh perspective to the network.
