Kanye West’s Return to IG

In his first post back on Instagram after a hiatus, Kanye West shared a controversial statement regarding Jewish people and his admiration for actor Jonah Hill.
The post, which has since been deleted, read: “Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”
The statement immediately sparked backlash from many social media users, with some accusing West of perpetuating harmful stereotypes about Jewish people.
In response to the criticism, the Anti-Defamation League issued a statement, saying: “There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are responsible for everything. Kanye West is a celebrity, but that is no excuse for his ignorance. We need to have a conversation, and Kanye West needs to educate himself.”
This is not the first time that West has been accused of making controversial statements. In the past, he has been criticized for his support of former President Donald Trump and for comments about slavery being a “choice.”
However, West has also been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and has spoken openly about his own struggles with bipolar disorder.
It remains to be seen whether West will address the backlash to his latest statement, or if he will continue to use social media to share his thoughts and opinions with his followers.
