During a recent sit-down on Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, the New Edition legend kept it all the way real when asked about artists flipping or sampling his music. And let’s just say, he wasn’t exactly throwing compliments.
“I don’t think they did it justice,” Bobby said bluntly. “I don’t think they really did justice to any of the samples that they have done to my songs.”
He wasn’t done! The 56-year-old icon zeroed in on Britney’s version of ‘My Prerogative’ from her 2004 ‘Greatest Hits‘ album — and let’s just say, he was less than impressed.

Bobby added the experience taught him a major lesson when it comes to licensing his music.
“I gotta hear it [before clearing it] because you don’t know what these kids will say these days. These kids say some sh*t that… you don’t want your song associated with it,” he added.
While Britney’s version did put a new generation on to the track during a wild era in her career, it’s clear Bobby wasn’t here for it at all.
