At least one person has been confirmed dead following a plane crash at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona.

According to KGUN9, the crash occurred at Marana Regional Airport on the morning of Wednesday, February 19. Per the outlet, the incident has been considered an “aircraft collision” by the Marana Police Department. Additionally, the department revealed via X, formerly known as Twitter, that one person has been confirmed dead.
Furthermore, the department noted that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) will be responding to the incident.

Blake Phillips, a reporter for the outlet, shared photos of the scene via X. The outlet notes that a crew is on-site and will share more information as it becomes available.
Additionally, Phillips also confirmed that the incident was indeed a plane crash involving two crafts.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, victims of the incident have yet to be publicly identified. Additionally, what caused the crash remains unclear.
The Crash Follows Another Small Plane Crash In Covington, Georgia
According to PEOPLE, a husband and wife were killed in a small plane crash in Covington, Georgia, shortly before midnight on Saturday, February 15. The plane was a single-engine aircraft that had taken off just after 11:00 p.m.
“There was no further communication from the aircraft after takeoff. Officers located the aircraft in the woods just north of the runway. Two individuals were located with the aircraft and were pronounced deceased at the scene,” the Covington Police Department reportedly asserted in a press release.
Per the outlet, the couple was identified as 62-year-old James Hardee and 59-year-old Janet Hardee, a first-grade teacher. Additionally, PEOPLE notes that the incident remains under investigation by the NTSB.
