CNN has announced that Gayle King and Charles Barkley will co-host a new weekly show on the cable news network called “King Charles.” The hour-long show will air in the fall of 2023 and will feature live discussions about cultural events and relevant topics.
Chris Licht, CEO of CNN, expressed his excitement about the show in an email to his colleagues, saying that King and Barkley’s unique personalities and perspectives will offer a fresh take on current events. The two will not be leaving their current positions; King will continue to anchor CBS Mornings, while Barkley will remain a commentator with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports.
Both King and Barkley expressed their enthusiasm about working together on the show. King, who also hosts “Gayle King in the House” on Sirius XM, said that she wasn’t looking for another job but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Barkley.
