Judge Arun Subramanian Denies Diddy’s Request To Be Released On Bail
According to TMZ, Judge Subramaniam issued his ruling on Monday, August 4. Furthermore, in a two-page ruling, the judge asserted that Diddy “did not contest that detention is mandatory for his crimes of conviction.” Instead, the judge asserted that Diddy only argued that the “limited exception” to his detainment is if he’s “not likely to flee or pose a danger to the safety of any other person or community if released.”
Due to this, the judge explained that Diddy has not proven that he’s not a “risk of flight or danger.”
“Increasing the amount of the bond or devising additional conditions doesn’t change… the circumstances and heavy burden of proof that Combs bears,” the judge wrote, noting that during Diddy’s trial, his legal team admitted to the violence he initiated in his “personal relationships.”
In addition, the judge noted Diddy’s argument that he was using “swingers” in his personal relationships “voluntarily” and for “mutual pleasure.” However, he also noted that the acts involved Casanda “Cassie” Ventura and “Jane Doe” being “beaten, coerced, threatened, lied to and victimized” by Diddy. Lastly, the judge noted that Diddy’s sentencing will take place within the next 60 days, and although the 55-year-old has made mention of “squalor” conditions at the MDC jail, the staff there has been able to “keep him safe and attend to his needs.”
Social Media Weighs In
Social media users weighed in on Judge Arun Subramanian’s denial of Diddy’s latest bail request in The Shade Room’s comment section.
Before Judge Arun Subramanian Denied Diddy’s Bail Request, Here’s What Was Happening In His Case
As The Shade Room previously reported, on July 30, Diddy’s legal team requested that he be released pending a retrial or acquitted of his prostitution conviction. Furthermore, their motion argued that Diddy did not have sex with third-party male prostitutes. And it reportedly argued that he did not profit from the interactions. In addition, the motion also proposed that the footage of him assaulting Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in 2016 was “unfairly prejudicial” since he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Amid all of this, Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, has come forward to share his family’s latest thoughts as they await his sentencing. Most recently, Gina Huynh, another ex-girlfriend of Diddy’s, even tried her hand at amplifying his plea for release. To note, Huynh was listed as Victim-3 in his trial. But she refused to testify. Furthermore, on August 3, she submitted to the judge. In it, she alleged that she doesn’t view Diddy as a “danger” to herself or the community.
