Muni Long Steps Back, Prioritizes Health Over Tour

Born Priscilla Renea Hamilton, Muni Long has been candid about her ongoing battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease that has caused her to miss multiple tour stops since the series began on October 16. While she had returned to the stage earlier this month and seemed to be feeling better, the singer revealed that continuing would now be unsafe for her. Additionally, fans had seemingly noticed her struggling during opening sets, sometimes needing to pause and catch her breath.

“As many of you know, I’ve been battling some health issues throughout The Boy Is Mine Tour. Despite doing everything I can to push through, my doctors have made it clear that it’s not safe for me to continue with the remaining dates of the tour. I’ll truly miss seeing you all out there, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to Brandy and Monica for having me and sharing the stage with me. I can’t wait to see you all again. Stronger than ever,” the R&B songstress shared in a sentimental caption.

R&B Stars Rally Around Her With Love

The R&B community flooded Muni Long with love and support following her announcement. Fellow artists including Tyrese, Queen Latifah, and Jhene Aiko shared heartfelt messages, reminding her that her health comes first. Tyrese wrote, “Health matters over anything…. Give yourself some grace and breathe through it. God’s got you and still have a seat at His blessed table!!!!” Queen Latifah added, “Take care of yourself Dear Heart.” Monica also chimed in on Instagram, thanking Muni for her contributions and noting the strength and gift she shared throughout the tour.
