Rick Ross Felony Charge Dropped in Miami Case

Rick Ross just caught a major break in his Miami case. Prosecutors have dropped the felony battery by strangulation charge against the Maybach Music boss, saying there was not enough evidence to move forward with that count, according to court documents.
Ross is not walking away completely clear. In place of the felony, prosecutors filed two misdemeanor counts, battery and battery, domestic violence, and those charges are still active as the case moves through the court.
The arrest came weeks ago after an accusation from an ex-girlfriend. Ross was taken into custody in the Miami area, and the felony filing at the time raised the stakes fast for one of hip-hop’s biggest moguls.
Ross has pleaded not guilty and has maintained his innocence from the start. For 107.3 VIP listeners, this is a developing legal story, not a finished one, and we will keep watching what happens with the remaining counts.
