Faith Evans has been ordered to pay more than $12.5 million in a fight over money tied to the Notorious B.I.G.’s business. A Delaware Court of Chancery judge ruled on Tuesday, October 27, that $12,518,336 in distributions from Notorious B.I.G. L.L.C. were withheld from the Voletta Wallace Revocable Trust, plus prejudgment interest.
Evans had argued the amount in question was far smaller, under $50,000, at $48,612. The court did not agree, finding the trust was entitled to the distributions going back to Voletta Wallace’s death on February 21, 2025.
Wallace, Biggie’s mother, built and guarded her son’s legacy for decades after his death in 1997. Her trust is overseen by Wayne Barrow, Biggie’s former manager, who brought the claim over how the company’s money was handled.
For R&B and hip-hop fans, this is about more than a court number. It is about who controls one of the most important legacies in music, and how that legacy gets paid for and protected for the next generation.
