Kayla Nicole Apologizes For “Hurtful…Ignorant” Past Comments

On Thursday (November 13), Kayla Nicole acknowledged that she’s seen the conversation surrounding her past social media use. She shared her statement on her Instagram Story and wasted no time apologizing. Her first sentence states, “I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago.” The media personality also said seeing the posts resurface last week was “incredibly difficult.”

“…And reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way,” Kayla Nicole wrote. “They were ignorant, hurtful and completely wrong. The woman I am today would never use those words or express those kinds of views. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how cruel and harmful online hate can be, and I would never want to add to that world of pain in any form.”

Nicole said she has deletes the controversial tweets, and her X (formerly Twitter) account entirely. Why? She says she refuses “to keep that energy alive or contribute to a cycle of hate.” Additionally, the influencer pledged to show her growth through her present and future actions.

“I take full responsibility for what I posted, and I’m truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt. My heart, values and perspective are completely rooted in empathy, love and respect for others. I can’t change the past, but I will continue showing through my actions who I’ve become and what I stand for today.”

What Did The Resurfaced Tweets Say?

At this time, it’s unclear who dug up Kayla’s old tweets, which she published between 2010 and 2014. However, multiple screenshots have been shared on social media platforms, particularly on blog pages, over the past week. The posts are controversial for some homophobic and derogatory language and tones towards different races, from Black people to Asians and Mexicans, per PEOPLE.

“There’s always that one obnoxiously loud black girl with the annoying voice. There’s alllllwayyyys that one. SMH,” Nicole wrote in one resurfaced tweet.

Another tweet said, “I live gay people! Buuuuutt not enough to be my own child. Lo siento.”

“#IConfess a taken man is more attractive then a single one….iddkkkk sumthin bout the competition smh,” Kayla wrote.

“George Bush got more balls than Obama,” Nicole also tweeted.

“I can hear this Indian girl praying/chanting through the walls. She got 5 mo minutes n imma let her know that Buddah isn’t real. SMH,” Kayla said in another old tweet.
