Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hiss‘ has not only slithered into digital history books for its gargantuan response on music sales and streaming sites, but – as recently revealed by Billboard – it’s also marked a major personal milestone.
The updated Hot 100 sees Meg’s viral diss track ‘Hiss’ open at #1, making it her first solo debut atop the all-genre chart.
Here are the numbers that helped its placement.
- Streaming: 29.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales: 104,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay: 2.9 million audience impressions
Released January 25, the LilJuMadeDaBeat-produced tune – which set the net on fire with its thinly veiled disses at her Rap counterparts Drake, Pardison Fontaine, and Nicki Minaj – saw its already impressive first-week total sales assisted by multiple versions including a Chopped N’ Screwed remix, instrumental edition, and more.
What’s more, ‘Hiss’ made history by boasting the biggest weekly streaming debut for a solo female rap song in US Spotify history.
Believed to be the latest taste of new music set to line Meg’s forthcoming album (due in the coming months), ‘Hiss’ now comes as Meg’s third time reigning atop the tally following ‘WAP‘ (with Cardi B) and the Beyonce-assisted ‘Savage.’
