No Role Models? Cam’ron Reportedly Hits J. Cole With Lawsuit Over Alleged Snub
Written by 96motero on October 29, 2025

These days, it seems like rap beefs aren’t just dropping bars — they’re dropping lawsuits. What started as a musical link-up between two hip-hop heavyweights has now turned into a full-blown legal showdown. Harlem legend Cam’ron and Dreamville’s own J. Cole are at odds, and the reason behind their fallout might have you double-checking those ‘Ready ‘24’ credits.

Cam’ron Says J. Cole Switched Up After The Song
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Cam’ron claims he contributed lyrics and a verse to J. Cole’s song ‘Ready ‘24’ under one condition. Reportedly, Cole would either have to collaborate with him on a future project or make an appearance on Cam’s hit podcast, ‘It Is What It Is.‘ But, Cam says Cole didn’t follow through on either promise. The Dipset legend alleges that despite ongoing communication between July 2023 and April 2024, Cole kept telling him he was “unavailable” for the podcast. And, their supposed future collab never came to life.
Cam’ron Is Suing J. Cole, Claiming He’s Owed Over $500K
Cam now wants a judge to officially name him co-author of ‘Ready ‘24’ and order a complete financial breakdown of what the track has earned. He’s reportedly seeking over $500,000 in compensation for what he says is his rightful share of the profits. As of now, J. Cole’s camp hasn’t publicly responded to the lawsuit. However, if this case goes forward, we might be witnessing one of the biggest rap legal showdowns of the year.
‘The Breakfast Club’ Weighs In On The Rap Drama
And of course, you already know The Breakfast Club had to weigh in! Charlamagne Tha God didn’t hold back, saying he found it “interesting” that Cam’ron was repeatedly told Cole was “unavailable” — something he described as “team talk.” Charlamagne suggested that if Cam and Cole had spoken directly, instead of possibly going through teams or reps, the whole situation might’ve been avoided. “It’s important for the artists to talk directly to each other,” he said, implying that miscommunication might’ve turned this into a full-blown lawsuit.
DJ Envy also chimed in, saying there’s definitely more to the story. He pointed out that J. Cole has a reputation for being a “hands-on” artist who likes to handle things personally and “wants to know the information.” Whether Cole’s still interested but just not at the moment, or if there’s deeper tension brewing, one thing’s clear: this exchange feels uneven, and fans can’t help but wonder what really went down between the two rap heavyweights.
