Partsch Sentenced 15–20 Years For Fatal Stabbing In Boston

On Wednesday, Associate Superior Judge Mary K. Ames handed down a 15- to 20-year sentence to 33-year-old Alyssa Partsch after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2023 killing of 21-year-old Jazreanna Sheppard Gonzalez. Partsch admitted to fatally stabbing Sheppard in downtown Boston after prosecutors initially charged her with second-degree murder. Partsch pleaded just weeks before her trial was set to begin later this month.

Authorities said that on July 20, 2023, Jazreanna Sheppard Gonzalez began her night hanging out with a friend near Brewer Fountain in Boston Common, before heading toward the Park Street MBTA station at around 11:30 p.m. That’s when Alyssa Partsch, who had allegedly threatened Sheppard online in prior weeks, confronted her for the first time in person. She was armed with a knife.

“Both witness testimony and documentary evidence indicate that prior to July 20, Sheppard and Partsch engaged in a series of social media exchanges where Partsch threatened Sheppard and was seeking to entice her to fight. Evidence indicates that the two had not met in person prior to that day,” an official press release said.

Surveillance footage reportedly captured the deadly encounter. Ultimately, it showed Partsch stabbing Sheppard multiple times before fleeing through the MBTA system. Authorities revealed Sheppard was stabbed in the head, face, and torso.

Family Delivers Emotional Statements At Sentencing Hearing

Investigators later built their case using witness testimony and video evidence. Furthermore, they ultimately located Partsch months later in Dorchester on November 4, 2023.

At Wednesday’s sentencing, Sheppard’s family delivered emotional statements, describing her as “a deeply loved human being” whose heart “was poured into everyone around her.” The courtroom reportedly resonated with grief as the lasting impact of this violent encounter was made painfully clear.

Court Highlights Tragic Consequences Of Online Feud

Judge Ames addressed Partsch directly, emphasizing the senselessness of the act and the irreversible damage it caused. “I hope now that you see the consequences of what you’ve done to this family,” she said.

Also, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden echoed those remarks, calling the killing “a senseless, impossible-to-understand moment of violence.” He also praised the victim’s loved ones for their heartfelt tributes.
