Osefos Reportedly Waive Speedy Trial, Will Reportedly Face Separate Hearings

On Wednesday, March 4, Wendy and Eddie appeared for a pretrial hearing where both reportedly waived their right to a speedy trial under the “Hicks Rule,” which normally requires a trial within 180 days of a first court appearance. Podcast host Taria Shondell Faison, who was reportedly present in the courtroom, later claimed on social media that the couple will now be tried separately. Additionally, each trial is expected to last roughly four days, plus one day for the defense. Court records also show that no pleas were entered during the hearing, and a status update for both cases has been scheduled for May 20.

Prosecutors later pointed to inconsistencies in the claims, including surveillance showing no break-in and some items reportedly stolen being returned or later found in the couple’s possession.
