Y’all! Kristin Cabot, the woman at the center of the viral “kiss cam” moment that had the internet talking this summer, is finally speaking out. The 53-year-old opened up to The New York Times and other outlets about how a single night at a Coldplay concert in Boston completely upended her life. And let’s just say…the tea is hot.

Kristin Cabot Speaks Out After Coldplay Chaos

The now-infamous video, filmed by a fellow concertgoer on July 16 and quickly circulated on TikTok, shows Cabot and her then-boss, former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, in a surprising embrace on a VIP balcony before realizing they were live on the Jumbotron. Chris Martin’s onstage comment—“Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy”—only fueled the frenzy online.

The viral fallout was swift and severe. Cabot resigned from her position as head of HR at Astronomer, and Byron also stepped down from his role as CEO. In one recent interview released on Thursday, Cabot admitted she made “a bad decision” after a couple of drinks and took full responsibility for the consequences.

Cabot Speaks On Women’s Criticism

Cabot also reflected on the surprising dynamic of how women responded to the viral clip. “What I’ve seen these last months makes it harder for me to believe that it’s all about the men holding us back,” she said. “I think [women] are holding ourselves back tremendously by cutting each other down.

In the interview, she opened up further about how that single moment turned her life upside down. “It’s not nothing,” she said. “I took accountability, and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay.” The mom of two also shared the personal toll: she and her children received dozens of threats, and her kids were terrified in the aftermath.

She Moves On, But The Drama Lives On

Nearly six months later, Cabot is slowly rebuilding her life, seeking new work, and even trying to find humor in the chaos. She recently treated herself to a Victoria Beckham T-shirt that reads, “Yes It’s Me,” a cheeky nod to the moment that changed everything.

Despite the public scrutiny, Cabot emphasizes that she’s focused on moving forward. She says she’s had minimal contact with Byron since September, noting that keeping distance is part of the healing process. While the video might still circulate online, Cabot appears determined to reclaim her narrative. And perhaps, finally, her peace of mind.
