Is AI taking our jobs? In this episode of ‘TSR Investigates,’ The Shade Room’s Justin Carter visits one of Amazon’s largest robotics centers with one question in mind: are AI robots taking our jobs… or are they changing them?

What’s really going on? And what changes are taking place in the workforce beyond Amazon’s doors?

Are AI Robots Taking Our Jobs? And What Can We Do To Keep Them?

Justin Carter traveled to Stone Mountain, Georgia, to take a look at one of Amazon’s largest robotics warehouses in the country. Per Carter, $2.5 billion is fueling Amazon’s initiative to integrate AI in its workforce. However, it has also rolled out its “Amazon Future Ready” plan.

“[It’s] the company’s promise to prepare 50 million for jobs with staying power,” Carter explains. “Because in a few short years, those entry-level warehouse jobs — they may soon turn into robotics and engineering jobs. So, they need people like you and I to be trained and ready for it.”

Kawanne Clark, the Senior HR manager at the facility, says the program gives workers the ability to upscale their skills. Furthermore, the company even offers a program for its “future engineers.”

“I definitely recognize this industry as rapidly changing. But I don’t think that’s something to be afraid of — it’s just about learning, and being open and being versatile and able to pivot,” Future engineer, Marcellus Odom, told Carter.

What Changes Are To Come To Amazon & Beyond?

Scroll above to watch as Carter connects with additional Amazon employees at the location, such as Area Manager Jaquez Washington, who shares how his entry-level job at Amazon has grown and positively impacted his life. Additionally, Carter addresses the recent reports alleging that the company plans to automate 75% percent of its operations by 2033.

Lastly, Carter shares the company’s public response and its plans forward.
