Meek Mill is speaking out after video footage surfaced online showing police detaining him in New York City. The rapper took to social media, saying the whole situation left him embarrassed and confused.

Meek Mill Speaks Out After Being Arrested
A video of Meek Mill started blowing up on social media, showing him handcuffed and surrounded by cops. Early on Saturday, November 1, Meek hopped on X (formerly Twitter) telling fans what went down and why he ended up in handcuffs. In one post, he said cops came at while he was at the club. He was so embarrassed and though it was a prank at first. In another post, he told folks that he believes the police were targeting him. “They tryna get me.”
“They just pulled me out the car and cuffed me in front of the whole club embarrassed the sh*t out of me in nyc ! I’m not scared to go outside without a gun … they had guns in my face for no reason smh I thought it was a prank.”
There’s still no word on what led police to arrest Meek Mill, but fans have immediately come to his defense to show support.

More About Meek Mill’s Previous Legal Troubles
Fans defense for Meek comes as he’s faced legal trouble in the past. In January 2023, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf pardoned him for 2008 drug and firearm charges, which landed him in prison in 2017, according to NBC News. At the time, Meek shared a document that appeared to come from the Governor’s office showing the charges under his real name, Robert Rihmeek Williams. Shortly after, he took to social media to say he was grateful to be able to move on. “Thankyall I’m only gone do more for my community on god! #newlevelsunlocked,” he wrote.
