Erica Banks has been released after reportedly being arrested for allegedly having a stolen gun at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

More Details On Erica Banks’ Release & Arrest
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the incident involving Banks, whose government name is Erica Scharmane Breaux, occurred on Wednesday, August 6. Furthermore, the rapper was reportedly stopped at the North Checkpoint of the Atlanta airport because “a gun was discovered in her Louis Vuitton bag.” Per the outlet, Banks allegedly placed the bag on the conveyor belt at the checkpoint’s X-ray machine.
Once the black and gray Smith & Wesson was discovered, Banks reportedly told authorities she was unaware of the item. Additionally, she reportedly told officials the gun belonged to her security. However, a test was run on the item. Ultimately, the test showed the weapon was reportedly “stolen in 2018 out of Greensville, South Carolina.”
Subsequently, the rapper was arrested and booked into Clayton County Jail on Wednesday evening. Per the outlet, she was charged with “theft by receiving stolen property.” Additionally, she was “released a few hours later.” Lastly, the outlet notes that Banks is “expected to appear in court soon.”

According to WSBTV, Banks has retained Jackie Patterson, a.k.a “The Fly Lawyer,” for representation. Patterson reportedly shared a statement with the outlet.
“It is our contention that when she was caught with this weapon, she had no idea it was stolen. So she is not guilty of any offense. And once we get to court on this case, my job is to make sure this never becomes a part of her criminal history and to have these charges dismissed,” Patterson reportedly stated.
To note, on Thursday, August 7, Banks took to her Instagram to share footage of herself smiling from the backseat of a police cruiser with the message, “i’m good yall thanks for checking…”
