Roommates, Florida is in the headlines again — and this story is as shocking as it is disturbing. Authorities say an 18-year-old named Jarrell Noah Jones is accused of doing the unthinkable after a late-night altercation turned violent. The situation reportedly escalated so fast that even investigators were left stunned once they pieced together what happened at the scene.

Jones Accused Of Running Man Over Repeatedly

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the incident went down just before midnight on September 16. The horrific scene took place at the intersection of Silver Star Road and Belco Drive, about five miles outside of Orlando. Deputies say Jones allegedly used his car to run down a pedestrian — not just once, but repeatedly — before speeding away. The victim, who suffered life-threatening head injuries, was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center with a fractured skull. Additionally, the victim also suffered from multiple brain bleeds, leaving him unable to speak.

More Details Emerge On This Shocking Incident

An Uber driver who happened to be stopped next to Jones at a red light reportedly witnessed the horrifying scene in full. The witness told investigators she saw the man crossing the street when Jones allegedly hit him. Then, Jones reportedly drove back and forth over the victim’s head before taking off. Authorities later reviewed nearby traffic camera footage and identified him as the driver of the silver Dodge Dart involved in the attack.

“The victim walked between [the witness’s] and the suspect’s vehicle and was possibly asking for money,” the affidavit reveals. “The suspect’s vehicle turned its wheels to the left, towards the victim and drove forward, knocking the victim over and the front left wheel went over the victim’s body. The suspect placed the vehicle in reverse over the victim’s head. The suspect put the vehicle in drive, once again and drove over the victim’s head, and reversed over his head.”

Things Got Even Wilder After Investigators Checked His Phone

But the story doesn’t end there — and the details only get wilder. Investigators say a passenger in the car claimed he “blacked out” during the incident. Meanwhile, Jones’ girlfriend gave police a completely different version of events. Additionally, Jones denied everything that took place. However, a search of his phone allegedly showed a Google search at 1:30 a.m. reading “ways to cover up a hit n run.” Police say he also deleted messages from the time of the attack. Jones has since been charged with attempted second-degree murder and remains behind bars in Orange County Detention Center without bond.
