Maurene Comey, Lead Prosecutor In Sean “Diddy” Combs, Also Involved In Jeffrey Epstein Case, Reportedly Fired From Department Of Justice
According to Fox News, Maurene Comey was fired from the Department of Justice and from her role as a prosecutor in the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office on Wednesday, July 16. Furthermore, the outlet notes that Maurene is the daughter of former FBI director James Comey.
In addition, Maurene was reportedly informed of her termination on Wednesday. At this time, the reasoning for her firing remains unclear. However, it is reportedly speculated that Comey’s departure could be linked to “her father’s rocky relationship with the president.” Per CNN, James Comey has been “constantly going after the administration” and is under investigation “for possible false statements to Congress.” To note, CBS News has also asserted that an alleged memo given to Maurene the day of her firing seemingly confirmed this theory.

More Details On Lead Prosecutor Maurene Comey & The Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Trial
According to CBS News, Maurene Comey had worked as a prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York for ten years. Prior to this, she reportedly worked as a law clerk to a chief judge in New York and an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton. Furthermore, the outlet notes that she earned her bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in 2010 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 2013.
As for her most recent case, Maurene Comey led the eight-week trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs, per The Shade Room. She and other prosecutors accused Diddy of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution and brought forward a group made up of over 30 witnesses and alleged victims. Diddy was ultimately convicted on only two counts of prostitution. He has since been denied bond until his sentencing in October, per The Shade Room. To note, he has reportedly enrolled in drug rehabilitation courses and violence prevention programs as he awaits his sentencing.
Nonetheless, the trial has seemingly put a spotlight on the victims of the case, with some even stepping forward, expressing their continued fear of Combs due to his light conviction. For example, it has opened up star witness Casandra “Cassie” Ventura to a bombshell new lawsuit.
