Imagine this—your neighbor asks you for a little help moving something heavy. They say it’s just a “mannequin” or some random equipment, and you lend a hand, thinking it’s no big deal. Fast forward a few days, and you’re seeing news reports that the “mannequin” was actually a… dead body?! Baby, that’s not just a nightmare—that’s real life for some folks in Massachusetts right now. And, 42-year-old Christopher Caron is smack dab in the middle of the chaos.

What Exactly Went Down?
According to prosecutors, Caron allegedly convinced neighbors to help him lift what he described as a “hockey goalie mannequin” into a black Honda Civic. But, it turns out the heavy object was actually the lifeless body of a 27-year-old, Declan Perry, his alleged friend. Authorities say the victim was later found wrapped in blankets and duct tape in the back seat of his own car, abandoned in front of a hospital emergency room in Weymouth, MA. Surveillance footage and witness reports confirmed that Caron drove the vehicle to the hospital and alerted staff to the situation. Then, he quickly fled the scene.
How Did The Story Unravel?
Police say it all started unraveling once the shocking discovery made headlines. That’s when a neighbor came forward, telling Scituate Police they had helped Caron move the blanket-covered bundle into the car. The neighbor recalled Caron joking that it “felt like a dead body,” but insisted he said it was just a mannequin filled with water. That prompted officers to search Caron’s home, where they allegedly found suspicious items—including scissors, web cameras, and reddish-brown stains.
According to police reports, things took a dark turn when Christopher Caron and Declan Perry reportedly drove to Boston to buy fentanyl and cocaine before heading back to Caron’s condo in Scituate. Later that night, Caron allegedly searched online for “7-Eleven and Narcan” — a clear sign something was wrong. Around 3 a.m., Caron and a woman allegedly called for help tried to revive Perry with Narcan, but unfortunately, she woke up hours later to find Perry unresponsive. The woman claims she urged Caron to call 911 multiple times, but he refused, allegedly worried his mother and grandmother would kick him out of the condo if they found out what happened.
What’s The Outcome For Caron?
After an arrest warrant was issued, Caron turned himself in over the weekend. Additionally, he is currently facing murder charges, but has pleaded not guilty. While the final autopsy results are still pending, a state trooper says the medical examiner believes Perry died from blunt force trauma and possible manual strangulation. Caron’s father also shared that his son has a history of fentanyl addiction and had recently relapsed—leaving many wondering whether substance abuse played a role in this chilling case.
